The state of affiars, in a country state of mind...

A short and sweet apology is owed to my loyal readers, for the neglect of my journaling over these passed few months.

Please accept my sincerest apologies.

Where have I been? and what exactly have I been up to? Well, those are two 'loaded' questions as they say, and I believe deserve my full attention and explanation.

To the former:
I've been, for the vast majority of my time, in the quaint little town of Elgin, Texas (which is located about 35 miles NE of the dirty little town of Austin, Texas). Elgin is my home, having been born and raised there, and I believe I shall always have some affection for it. However; my heart and soul yearn to return to the Brazos Valley, to my beloved University, and to my church home at Central Baptist. Summer so far, has been just as enlightening and refreshing as the last, albeit - in vastly different ways. The Lord has imparted on me once again, the drive to dig deeper into my faith, and truly search after Him. I pray that I may do just that.

To the latter:
I have been up! Let's say that. As the famous Civil War song recites, "Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the coming of the Lord", and this summer in particular has given me the opportunity to see more of God's Glory and the ways that it is expressed in my life. The Lord has given me the patience to read a few books over the past few weeks, that have enlightened me as well. At the moment, I am reading C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity". Other titles that I have read include, "Hell, Yes!" by Robert Jeffress, and "Why Revival Tarries" by Leonard Ravenhill (which I might add, is a book that touched my heart and set my soul on fire). All in all, I have really taken a liking to reading religous books, and pray that I may continue to have the time/money/and patience to do just that.

More will come later, but for now - May the Lord use your words to rattle the gates of Hell.
